Good morning nostrworld! It's Independence Day, and this morning I'm thinking about my journey to be more independent from "the system". I don't know that I'll ever reach total sef-reliance, nor do I want/need to. But I try to trade or barter with my community in order to form relationships, because I know I can count on my fellow man instead of "the system". Exactly. We don't have to be completely self sufficient. We want to interact with others, but at the same time, every little step towards self sufficiency makes us stronger.
I've heard lots of people bemoan the fact that their finances or their home don't allow them to grow all of their own food. Because they can't grow it all, they grow none. Everyone can do something. It may be small, but every little step helps them and helps others.
So true, no one can be completely self sufficient. We all need the help of other people.
