I like greeting my neighbours irl (the ones who like to say hi)
I vacillate on "forced" small talk interactions being enjoyable and burdensome
Not a big fan of forced small talk. I do enjoy saying hi or noding in acknowledgement of someone I know/recognize. Doesn’t feel forced. Sometimes I’m in a hurry and don’t engage irl. It’s fine too
Yeah, I think I'm in a bit of a mood. Too many forced holiday gatherings with random people, and lack of sleep. It takes conscious effort for me, and I'm about tapped out atm. Realizing this as we speak now lol
Xmas is the most stressful time of year for many reasons. Forced holiday gatherings is one of the main ones
Awkward family tensions beneath the surface as relatives you keep at arms length assemble, courtesy attendance to Xmas parties with coworkers full of total strangers you don't wanna get to know, etc lol.
I think I feel better already though. GM!!
It’s not my favourite either. I really enjoy the time with my close family (wife and kids). The rest…a lot of it is forced yes. At least saying hi to neighbours in the morning, I do it because I feel like it. There’s no obligation

I’m not a holiday person either.
They make me feel bipolar lol. I can get in the spirit at times. Other times, ugh
I’m too introverted and contrarian. Also I have almost nothing in common with most people except being alive.
I’m not a fan of any social gatherings that are forced
Totally, I’m difficult, they are difficult. 🤣
Especially since they last a few days. One or two hours is one thing. But 4-5 days is brutal
Short stints are great.
I always cut it up even when behind “enemy lines”. A walk, going to the movies, anything 😂
You have to. Only way to stay sane. 😂
