I think they forked it from Bytecoin and I think bytecoin may have been forked from bitcoin. All the same shit though.

No, Bytecoin is an entirely different protocol called CryptoNote. They don't share the same genesis block as Bitcoin either.

Did Bitcoin inspire Monero? Of course. Was either one a fork of Bitcoin? No
