I'd say it's a matter of priority though. If men prefer a pretty face when choosing a wife, it's probably because that's some indicator of long-term fidelity, child-raising ability, etc. At least for the smart men.

The clustering is very important. Men having an attraction to women’s faces is a signal for many things we may not understand. So I trust my gut. I will not marry an ugly woman.
For sure. There's probably some room for personal taste on where the "ugly" line falls, but there are reasons we generally find certain features attractive.
