Maybe damaged the cable during pulling? Remember that half the wires are redundant. You only need good wires on pins 1, 2, 3, 6.

This isn't true for gigabit and up. Only 100 and slower is 2 pair.

If he messed up part of it it should auto negotiate at 100 instead of failing.

How long is the pull? Did you follow one of the 568 wiring patterns? It does matter, any straight through is not equal. The longer the run the more it matters.

this is good intel. The pull is about 100ft. I don't know what 568 means. I just used this for both ends:

Yep, 568B on both ends is the correct pinout that most pros will use.

Did you have passthrough connectors where the wires come out the end of the connector then get snipped during the crimp process?
