Time for a little original poetry.
~'So Long,' Never 'Goodbye'~
by Duncan Cary Palmer
True devotion never fails,
Though lovers sometimes part.
We separate, fulfilled and blessed,
Content in mind and heart.
Eternity demands
Complete revision of old views.
As blessed, endless lives unfold,
We're free to chase our Muse.
Two souls long to discover
Who we truly are in others.
Reflections in the looking glass
Of brother, friend, and lover.
Endless paths will cross again,
Our love will be renewed.
The interval, though long,
Between sweet kisses, so imbued
With fresh intent and magic
That no soul could e're conclude
The temporary separation tragic.
In between years spent together,
Other sisters, friends, and consorts
Nurture us delightfully.
When next we one other hold,
Our love blooms, exponentially.
Temporary's quite the same
As permanent, you see.
Cycles add bright spice to life,
Sweet encores are the key,
A blissful symphony.
For in a story without end,
All good things last forever.
A tryst, though it be short or long,
Is blest in fullest measure—
An existential treasure—
Wrap your mind around forever.
