Last I checked it out - bunch of buzzwords, exclusive development, unneeded complexity. Even as a beginner one can access and experiment with nostr. Doesn't pass the sniff test for me

It used to be somewhat like Nostr, but now they have pivoted to an unscalable approach that is very different.

My take is that farcaster is a bit more like a closed atprotocol (bluesky) style protocol but where you have to use their token to buy an identity. I haven’t paid a lot of attention to them lately. They do have a ton of apps and support many kinds of apps similar to nostr.

I scanned some of the spec. sounded like they’re also extending open graph tags such that the rendered images can be interactive eg a poll
