It’s hard to criticize a man’s methods who took the reins on a country that had decades of children soldiers who grew up to homicidal adults. The sad truth.

Question is, where would El Salvador be right now without him?

I can’t say whether he is a “good guy” but he appeared to be a necessary guy at the time.

This is a very fair opinion. His methods have been anything but ethical. He is absolutely some degree of a dictator, but not in the same way the connotation suggests. He has done what is necessary to bring good to the people of El Salvador.
