Alright, here is a quick brainstorm right off the top of my head without even thinking too much:
So many apps created then abandoned
User experience in general is horrible
Public private key confusion
Retarded douche bags fighting with sincere people
Gay porn popping up out of nowhere
Lots of spam
Connecting wallets is not easy
Bad relay management allowing spam, porn, etc.
Diminishing numbers of users
New people are used to algorithms, lack of algorithm provides less interest and energy.
Lack of funding for legit apps that we need like a YouTube alternative, Instagram alternative, etc.
Lack of interest by the masses for real freedom and sovereignty
Many new folks see too much Bitcoin posts and are turned off.

algorithms kinda depend on that
it's also a good use case for LLMs to take those fulltext searches and use their semantic juju to filter and sort results by relevance, there are ways to do this with simpler stuff but feeding an LLM a set of results to rank them by relevance is basically what they were born for. i've been using LLMs more in my programming work and what they are really good at is sifting through a lot of data and picking out relevant stuff. they are not so smart at writing code because of the causality relations between processes and ontology of the data. this is why there is these "agent" things, which basically use similar principles as language compiler state machines to define a procedure, and the LLM creates plans, and then evolves them as it acquires more input from the code.
anyway, yeah. we need full text indexes first. DVMs should not exist - the relay should have this facility built into it, and then a worker that takes results and sends them to an LLM to filter and sort them.
Similar problems than Bitcoin.
Nostr is for those who need it, understand their value and put the effort jumping through obstacles to use it.
If someone is expecting masses to migrate from their shitty life-controlling-new-world-order networks to here, that person will be disappointed.

Legal. Concordo com muitos pontos como spam e apps abandonados, isso realmente é chato mesmo podendo ser contornado a nível de usuário.
Entretanto, discordo fortemente de alguns como o do algóritimo, pois a uma das vantagens é justamente não ter algorítimos de dopamina/manipulação na base do protocolo me fazendo focar no que realmente importa. Sempre que tenho algum poder de decisão eu me manifesto contra algorítimos na base, mesmo que também isso possa ser contornado a nível de relays pois existem relays com algorítimos.
No final é uma rede livre e diferente de tudo mesmo. Com isso clientes, relays e usuários estão sempre trabalhando juntos para decidir o que é melhor para o protocolo. Nenhuma responsabilidade aqui chega a ser terceirizada de fato e concordo que muito dos usuários não estão muito preparados pra esse tipo de dinâmica, principalmente os mais jovens pois liberdade inevitavelmente traz responsabilidade.
I hear ya. Also, everyone needs to acknowledge that algorithms aren't inherently bad and controlling -- there can be helpful algorithms for beginners, etc. Make sense?
Concordo mas não é o que acontece com todas as redes de bigtechs atualmente. Todas possuem algoritmos que não podem ser auditadas, ou seja, nenhum usuário é capaz de saber se o algoritmo é bom ou não, ou mesmo saber se o algoritmo esta desligado ou não (como no caso do X).
Aqui eu sou contra o algoritmo na camada base e prefiro que se mantenha como estar atualmente a níveis de relays que podem ser muito bem auditaveis por qualquer usuário interessado. Assim todos tem a liberdade de usar algoritmos ou não e de maneira confiável.
