The Bluesky ideal world is my biggest fear of what could happen to Nostr, and why I am wary of the centralized caching servers and aggregators.
Discussion
(Recently I've been thinking that Nostr could survive having some aggregators and whatnot, but conscious effort must be made to not make them irreplaceable or absolutely necessary for the network to function.)
One thing I can't figure out is if users should be aware of their relays to pick and choose or if there's a future where it functions more like the Bitcoin network with seeds and smart clients and network saturation of messages.
Agree. A lot of semantics and jargon that = "a little bit of centralization is OK. Because we said so." Ethereum POS vibes. 🧐
I get the worries but nostr clients on mobile eat alooot of data. Maybe I can setup my relays better idk, but it's been a problem for me.
Can't see that post...anyone got a screenshot?
