I think plenty of nation states have survived that aren’t blood thirsty tyrants. They just have no geopolitical influence and could be victimized by the superpowers at any time.

No tyrant is a tyrant on their own warped mind. They’re choosing to victimize. Of course they’ll always be tyrants objectively.

It’s funny how the whole military world uses the euphemism “defense”. As if to say we don’t offend.

In terms of game theory though, sometimes a good offense is a good defense.
