Can somebody give me some concrete reasons why you shouldn’t use Windows OS for interacting with your primary cold storage funds?

Get an air gapped hardware device like Coldcard. You don’t have to worry about windows or buying a Mac and you can even power it with a 9v battery if you want. Problem solved

The question is whether there are clear negative tradeoffs to using windows in this scenario over Mac or Linux.

Linux is open source. Control is a big one. If you’re pretty technical, this is the biggest reason. It really depends on the user. Non-technical people are better off with Mac. Microsoft has a lot of known vulnerabilities & is an easier target for attack. Generally speaking.

I wouldn’t worry much about this. Read about #[4] experience with over-engineering & over thinking his setup & you realize that doing what works for you is best. KISS methodology works. Just don’t give your wallet over to the wallet inspector.
