I am assuming this was store bought fishcakes the experation date on those are the dont sue us dates
Bacteria in food thrive most above 7 degree celsius under that there is a very limited chance it has grown bacteria
Hence if it was in the fridge its fine 1 day after dont sue me date

The expiration date is just a guess, and usually a conservative one. If it smells fine then it's probably fine to eat.
