Do you play D&D Adventurers League?
Can have characters that you bring into other game sessions.
Part of the challenge otherwise is balance and growth. People hate the grind, but it's not much fun walking through built up overpowered either. Character development counts.
Still, I'd like to see game systems arise around digital assets such that acquiring something in one platform (e.g. Infinite Fleet) may have a use in another game. Development incentives are tricky though. Main benefit is network effect with a lot of users able to play. But conversely that can be a curse as there can be an immediate swam effect from previously non players now active. There's interesting things that can be done with this from a lightning standpoint as well
