Need a NIP for this.

I can take my nostr identity anywhere. Why not your characters from different games. I hated rebuilding a character from scratch in Diablo, then Path of Exile, then again for Pillars of Eternity.

All of these games have a basic character structure based on the AD&D character abilities and attributes.

I get a lot of pushback on this idea but it all centers on what can't be done rather than what can be done.

What would a "transportable" character enable across multiple games? How might that be advantageous (or not)?

I'm never giving up on this idea.

SAO ran with a similar concept, character accounts that ported freely across virtual worlds, and would reinterpreted what your stats, or whatever data meant as appropriate to the new environment.

Damn, some DND sessions over nostr would be awesome! The future is bright.

The character attributes, weapons and other items across games and in game currency with lightning to buy and sell items. Would be awesome.

Good idea for games with similar ability systems, for sure.

Right now I am more interested with bridging game economies using Bitcoin. Been playing a lot of Sovereign Craft, where we have a fully player led circular economy with actual lightning wallets used in game, and which can be imported into Blue Wallet to use as a regular Lightning wallet anywhere else.

How could we import this idea or even LN wallets to EverQuest… sats for accomplishing certain feats or to tip others in game, there is a reason I have characters named Ssatoshi and Ssatoshee… lol, declaring where I stand even if many don’t get it.

Do you play D&D Adventurers League?

Can have characters that you bring into other game sessions.

Part of the challenge otherwise is balance and growth. People hate the grind, but it's not much fun walking through built up overpowered either. Character development counts.

Still, I'd like to see game systems arise around digital assets such that acquiring something in one platform (e.g. Infinite Fleet) may have a use in another game. Development incentives are tricky though. Main benefit is network effect with a lot of users able to play. But conversely that can be a curse as there can be an immediate swam effect from previously non players now active. There's interesting things that can be done with this from a lightning standpoint as well

I was kinda thinking that different games that accepted a Let's say NIP-7000 character would be able to nerf some attributes and buff others as they saw fit to limit supra-powerful characters. Some might allow some inventory items a character might bring (each with it's own attributes) but not others or none at all.

Existing games I figure won't even want to devote time to figuring that all out but new games will always be made. If the NIP exists when they do then it would be easy to say "This game is NIP-7000 compliant" .

I mean, the whole idea is a stretch but at least I wouldn't have 15 different Palladins.
