Very interesting. I was initially bullish, but bailed on keet months ago because development and network effects seemed to have stalled out.

They haven't. It is cool, just not open source.

It's because they had to completely rebuild the backend to get the 10,000+ rooms to work at scale. So not much has happened on the surface, but everything underneath is completely changed. The alpha and beta versions aren't even compatible.

The beta just dropped about a month ago maybe. It's working amazingly for all of my project related groups. It's open like 90% of my day 😆

Ah, I see. I just reinstalled, and see that I’m still “on a tricky network” and still no profile portability. 😅

For me, profile portability would be excessive complication. It is for communicating with people you know, not a social media app.

I want to like keet, but until they add the ability to keep it open in the background on Linux, I'm never going to remember to load it.

Bullish on their potential though.
