There are plenty of guns in Australia. They are ownd for use as tools as well as for recreation.

There is a waiting period for a new licence and you cant own a gun if you have a history of violent crime, domestic violence or serious mental heath problems.

And there are storage rules that they must be kept in a locked gunsafe when not in use.

A huge amount of guns were surended after the Port Arthur Massacre in the 90's and it's a fun meme to say that australia gave back all our guns but it's not true.
