Two stories my wife told me today that highlight, firstly, why I love her, and secondly our need to be the solution to problems.

The first story was that her elderly mother had lost consciousness and hit her head badly yesterday, waking up surrounded by people. 45 minutes later the ambulance had still not arrived, so one of the people helping called the ambulance, cancelled it and drove her to hospital, returning to her home to get her husband too.

The second story involved my wife at the ophthalmologists. She had drops in her eyes that made her vision too blurry to drive and as she left she observed an old man, who'd also been at the eye dr's weaving and stumbling down the street. She introduced herself and mentioned they had been at the same Dr, and she asked if he could see. He admitted he was having difficulty, so she walked him to his bus stop and waited with him until he got on, having a chat with him while they waited.

A small amount of kindness goes a long way to making the world a better place.
