This interactive map of electricity production and where the power comes from is fascinating to explore. There are huge differences regionally. My other takeaway is that the American system is incredibly fragmented.

We love our coal in South Africa, and we got that triple A, top-shelf, boiler-ready type coal too. We were switching off our coal stations to reduce carbon emissions and we had up to 8 hours a day without electricity.

utter stupidity. I'm okay with this, we need electricity in order to develop. There's just no other way.

Very cool map!

woah… very useful for one of my projects 🧐🙏

Great map for an overview of the state of energy sources!

Nuanced thought/critical thinking:

North western Europe is heavily dependent on cheaply produced goods and services made in Poland and India amongst others.

So with that in mind is, say Poland, with its unclean energy the big sinner in Europe?

Or is Poland taking one for the team, while the rest of Europe is free-wheeling by enjoying cleaner air, looking virtuous, yet benefiting from the environmantal sacrifices made elsewhere?
