If you read news articles, would you prefer to read the original or a neutral tone summary and some key highlights?

The original. But I don't read it if the interests of the outlet coincide with those of Western imperialism.
Both š
Personally, I'd prefer the original. I'm well versed in critical analysis, and don't have any problem recognizing and filtering out bias while absorbing the factual content of the article. Also, the original provides an opportunity to see what the various sides believe, and how they view the facts. You don't get any of that with a neutered summary.
I like the idea of the neutral with a summary, and if I am more interested I can read the original in full length
original
Original. So I know what Iām about to read and can decide if worth it.
Im for original as well. This way we can see whatever bias staring us in the face. Depending on who and what creates the neutral summary, it may still be riddled with bias. Better to see the ugly beast of bias in broad day than lurking in a dark corner
A tool like ground news that immediately shows you a link to the same story written with a different bias bend is best though. That way you can see how interested parties perceive the story
This is such a good question, really. First reaction is to say -original. But why this is my first reaction? Maybe Bc i think that I'd be missing out some important information that is stored in an original text? And what that important element would be? News is not a fiction, it doesn't require or even should avoid personal opinions, intricate style, complex vocabulary. So why I wouldn't want to have a,neutral summary? Everyone knows that rhetorics (choice or order of words etc) can influence opinions and be used as a manipulation tool. I think summary for news is a perfect solution. (Not for more complex written forms which meant to provide not only information but also pleasure).Obviously there is question of how good the llm is and how much I can trust the creators and fine-tuners of this model. Thumb up for neutral summary for news only.
