Wait, why do you require location enabled to use the "mesh"?

I agree with some of this.. always thought the Mesh was the useful part, but only in an emergency. The chat pretty much just duplicates 1000 other things, poorly...

But IDK about "honeypot"... Isn't this all open source, at least the Android port by nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqg4waehxw309a5xjum59ehx7um5wghxcctwvsqs6amnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dsq36amnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3dwp6kytnhv4kxcmmjv3jhytnwv46qqgzsm98u9kzcp35zkpc62shck8335gqtq5yt4w26xwl0pp2a72qavvyexdky ?

Did you pay attention when you installed it? Full time precise location because that is the permission android uses for Bluetooth and the mesh is BLE.

How would it work with graphene

It works fine

Still just a single permission for Bluetooth and location on GrapheneOS

source, I use GrapheneOS and that is where I tested bitchat.

Did not realize that. I assumed the location was required for the Geochat, which I don't care about. Didn't know that was important for BLE...

Reading around it seems like Android 12 might be introducing some more fine-grain control on that, which would be good...
