I feel the same way. It is a bit lonely to be the one who stops the intergenerational trauma because you become the last man standing, but I’d prefer my kids never know the kind of pain I went through.

It's funny, I just kick back and my mind wanders how good they have it to not go through "adverse childhood experiences."

I'm just glad they get to have a childhood and I live vicariously through them. No worries for domestic violence, physical and emotional abuse etc. Just cruising through their developmental milestones and slaying those positive attachment styles without a care in the world.. I'll shield them from the dangers for as long as I can. It's our duty as parents..

It's worth the effort though. I'm proof.

I disagree with the approach on the last bit., Over time, I will atleast talk & share over the years of what I went through in my past and explain what many other kids today are still going through so my son has the perspective & understanding.
