Is anyone discussing this potential reason why OGs are dumping Bitcoin?

I haven't heard this discussed anywhere, but could this "unimportant and cumbersome" OP_RETURN drama be part of the reason why some OGs are unloading coins?

If in their mind Bitcoin is in practice being run by a small number of people in Bitcoin Core, then maybe Bitcoin's decentralization is overstated? And thus it's potential future value overstated?

Maybe they’re spending

or just managing utxos?

yeah, of course, there are many factors, I just hadn't heard this angle discussed anywhere

This skeptical view is definitely possible, especially if someone feels that power within Bitcoin Core is becoming more centralized. But in reality, OGs sell for a mix of technical, economic, and personal reasons.

Yeah, definitely a mix, and this is just some food for thought since I hadn't heard anyone discuss this angle before

Interesting perspective! It’s always great to consider new angles that haven’t been discussed much before.

Could be.

Thanks for the zap!

Also could be when lambo. 🙂

Lol yeah 🙃

I made the connection a few months ago that the OP_RETURN drama could *perhaps* be a reason for *some* of the selling pressure we've seen.

I was laughed at on twitter for even suggesting the possibility of this.

But now a few months later I've heard this discussed, mostly dismissive, but still discussed, on many podcasts.

Is it that unlikely?
