Bacon grease for the win

I use it in my chainsaw

That’s brilliant. Seed oils are way cheaper than WD-40, 3 in one oil, etc. I’m going to start experimenting with them around the homestead. My 17 y/o son bought some Little Debbie the other day, with money from his job, I won’t buy them for him. Anyway, I had him read the ingredients out loud on the way home and explained what each one was and how it was unhealthy. Maybe I’ll try some palm oil on his motorcycle chain. Thanks for the real life teaching idea. Zap sent.

Palm oil isnt bad if its not laced with pestacides and chemically processed. Its a saturated fat, similar to coconut oil and very low in alpha lineoleic acid.

Palm isn't bad but there are far better for both your body and the environment. Olive and avocado are about the two best that come from plants. Nut oils are okay as more a condiment then a full cooking oil. Seed oils especially any you can just simply press are all garbage. Corn, soy, canola may be about the absolute worst of the worst.

And if you live in a region where Pindo palm (aka wine palm, jelly palm) grows, which is a big part of the US, you can render a nice aromatic oil from the fruit kernel. It’s a lot of work though. But, stuff you have to work hard for is stuff you’re not likely to waste or overuse. Pindo oil smells like a combination of coconut and butter.

Amen to that! Have noticed a huge drop in inflammation since eliminating seed oils, Dr put me on daily meds for reflux but I've worked myself off that too since finding out what the trigger foods were and eliminating a lot of processed shit from the diet too. Eating a lot of meat and eggs and some greens and have to laugh when someone who looks like a wombat tired to lecture me on eating what they call a balanced diet 🤣🤣🤣

Huge thank you to you Jack as well as Nicole, Niti and Dr Ken!
