Sid- there just aren't that many of us using SimpleX. It's getting better every version though! . I want to use it myself, but not many Bitcoiners I know are there.
And waaay to many still doing their groups on telegram!
(Now I know exactly what Mallets means when he talks about the network effect)
Signal/Molly (Signal fork) as a mainline.
SimpleX for more private conversations.

Simplex it's privacywise the best the others have flaws which not great for privacy but they do the function if you're just looking to chat.
Discord: Groups, Servers, Screen-/Video sharing
Telegram: DMs, ranges from family to casual contacts
Signal: Actually important chats.
Matrix: Niche support grups that live either there or on IRC. Literally nothing else - although I have my own Dendrite instance... (well, Dendrite is kind of Matrix' forgotten child, lol.)
Well its good no one is doing WhatsApp that, everyone is smart like me. 😂
