If you are a man, and you say you’ll do something, it’s important you follow through and do it.

Once you get into the habit of lying to yourself, it’s really a difficult habit to stop.

If you aren’t sure if you can do it, then keep the thought to yourself.

Only speak out loud what you intend to do.

How to cop W’s 101

Just going to push back a little on this…

1. Why single out men?

2. Following through for the sake of keeping your word can lead to disaster. Learning to cut your losses and move on is one of the most valuable skills to learn in life, as well as leadership, when it comes to both projects and people.

3. “Lying to yourself” is a statement that needs unpacking before offering advice. What does this even look like? Start by taking a fresh look at what a lie is.

4. If you aren’t sure you can do something, realise that this is probably the perfect time to involve others! Keeping ideas about what you would like to achieve to yourself makes no sense at all. There are all sorts of unlocks that can come from voicing your thoughts and ideas with others.

5. Speaking out loud only the things you intend on doing is a limiting rule. Again, there can be immense value gained in sharing ideas with others. Feedback in all forms and from as wide a circle as possible can make all the difference when setting intentions.
