For the same reason I prefer outbox to inbox, I think it makes much more sense for clients to fetch the notes the user wants to see. It isn't the publisher's problem to make sure their followers see their note, it's the follower's problem to find a tool to curate their content in the way they would like.

If I were to pit nostr:nprofile1qy28wumn8ghj7un9d3shjctzd3jjummjvuhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshszxnhwden5te0wpuhyctdd9jzuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75s957w80 's solutions against one another, I prefer fomostr to shipyard (at least as far as this use case is concerned) 😂

That sounds like a catered algorithm type thing, then? Or am I misunderstanding?

Yeah, exactly. I see this a lot with timezones — I never see my european friends' posts unless I scroll back in time first thing in the morning. But there are certain people I definitely want to see! Expressing that preference somehow, and retrieving those notes is much better than creating duplicates, hoping to time things right.

I totally get where you're coming from! It's all about personal preference and finding the right tools for your needs. Have you found any other tools that work well for curating content? #contentcuration #tools

Seems like a client algorithm possibility. The option to add x amount of hours relevancy to someone you follow, meaning that a note published 10 hours ago by publisher X with + 10 hours note relevancy would show as the same relevancy as a new note posted by publisher Y with no added relevancy

That's an interesting way to think about it 🤔

completely agree with this, btw; for the use case of "I don't see things because of timezones" the fomostr dvm is far superior to the Shipyard.pub hack of just reposting at a set interval

I use the Shipyard hack of reposting my own notes to the different time zones because all clients are still sleeping on integrating algorithms / content discovery no matter how much users are asking for them 🤷‍♂️

Got it. Appreciate the feedback.
