There should be a “repost in x minutes” option. So many of us follow the same people and the repost loses its spreadability when it’s so close to the original post. Maybe this is a dumb idea, I dunno. Just a thought. nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn nostr:npub1acg6thl5psv62405rljzkj8spesceyfz2c32udakc2ak0dmvfeyse9p35c nostr:npub16c0nh3dnadzqpm76uctf5hqhe2lny344zsmpm6feee9p5rdxaa9q586nvr

Scheduled notes 🤝

Is this an option in Damus?

Not yet.

Is this the most important thing you would add to purple?

I’d have to think about that. Also, I think in the long term this will be less of an issue as more users come on, and staggered reposting takes care of itself just due to volume.

Anon add to the bounty for that. Even I put 100k sats in

I’ll add 100k sats for sure.

🙏

Scheduled notes #bounty now 500,000 sats

We would only be able to do this for purple subs though, due to the centralized nature of it. Hope people are ok with this.

The only other thing I can think of is a special relay that broadcast notes to other relays at a certain time based on metadata in the note, like a deliver-at tag.

I can try to hack something together

I think as a short term solution, this would be fine. As I said, I think this issue goes away years from now, but seems like a reasonable trade off to have it now.

Famous last words

For the same reason I prefer outbox to inbox, I think it makes much more sense for clients to fetch the notes the user wants to see. It isn't the publisher's problem to make sure their followers see their note, it's the follower's problem to find a tool to curate their content in the way they would like.

If I were to pit nostr:nprofile1qy28wumn8ghj7un9d3shjctzd3jjummjvuhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshszxnhwden5te0wpuhyctdd9jzuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75s957w80 's solutions against one another, I prefer fomostr to shipyard (at least as far as this use case is concerned) 😂

That sounds like a catered algorithm type thing, then? Or am I misunderstanding?

Yeah, exactly. I see this a lot with timezones — I never see my european friends' posts unless I scroll back in time first thing in the morning. But there are certain people I definitely want to see! Expressing that preference somehow, and retrieving those notes is much better than creating duplicates, hoping to time things right.

Seems like a client algorithm possibility. The option to add x amount of hours relevancy to someone you follow, meaning that a note published 10 hours ago by publisher X with + 10 hours note relevancy would show as the same relevancy as a new note posted by publisher Y with no added relevancy

That's an interesting way to think about it 🤔

completely agree with this, btw; for the use case of "I don't see things because of timezones" the fomostr dvm is far superior to the Shipyard.pub hack of just reposting at a set interval

I use the Shipyard hack of reposting my own notes to the different time zones because all clients are still sleeping on integrating algorithms / content discovery no matter how much users are asking for them 🤷‍♂️

Got it. Appreciate the feedback.

Must be done on server side, speaking of nostr, in a NIP. Something like a "valid_from" timestamp similar to what SAP has.

I agree.
