Inconvenient Truth: Dual redundant disks should be the minimum for LN database safety. People didn't recommend this before because it simply cost too much. This has now changed.

You ideally don't want to rely on external USB drives. Internal drives are far more reliable. Some cheap hardware can do two internal disks very cheaply.

RPi was never a good choice for LN nodes.
