Local seems to be the overall consensus. We have a local co-op that delivers coffee here often. Seems like the best choice for me. I am not worried about it. Just like understanding more.

Shop small & local if you can. If you're really concerned, go visit the facility. Many will give tours. Most coffee roasters seem like weord introverts but they love to talk about coffee and show off what they do.
