I would argue that a souped-up Switch is what is needed right now. Not everything that Nintendo makes needs to be a gimmick.

I'm just giving Xbox shit, although it would be interesting if they did that, its been their marketing lately. Come to think of it, they might have to do some form of cloud option for future games just to keep them running on the Series S which doesnt have a ton of ram if I remember right. I bet Nintendo wouldn't allow it even if Microsoft wanted to.

The past couple of generations have been. The Wii had waggle controls, the Wii U had two screens, the Switch was a handheld/console hybrid. This next console being an improvement on the Switch makes it less of a gimmick and more of an idea that they stuck with because it was good. I'm curious about the name, my guess is it will be "Switch 2" just because people allegedly had a hard time understanding Wii U.
