Say what you want about Bukele but at least he understands the difference between Bitcoin and shitcoins.

He is a sell out.

Are you referring to his deal with the IMF?

Yes

Hard to say no to the IMF (have you read Confessions of an Economic Hitman?).

Not exactly an excuse but my point still stands:

He’s Bitcoin only.

He’s turning out to be a pretty good czar.

Any worries about him not relinquishing power?

He’s done great things for his people. The country loves him. He’s got an approval rating of over 85%. The people wanted him to stay for a second term.

It would be troubling if he refused to relinquish power after this, yes. But that’s 4 years away. We’ll see.

Yeah I was there last June for a few weeks and almost everyone I interacted with had very positive things to say.

The few complaints I heard were from people wanting to rely on the government for handouts.

As you’d expect!

Bukele is pulling El Salvador from the doldrums.

Trump might be doing the same for the US.

Bigger picture > focusing on reserves.

How is gambling with taxpayers’ money helping the country move forward?

Bukele is doing it buying Bitcoin only, as he should.

Haha very true. IMF strong armed him so he increased btc purchases in response. Seems like a smart plan to me. Fight battles you can win.

I'm glad Ross was freed. Other than that it's looking like Trump will end up being a net negative for bitcoin. It'll probably be something Trump does that plunges us into the next bear market...sorry super-cyclers! 🀣

all these US people so mentally pumped because they though they'd have their bags pumped by Trump.

It happened in the end - even though the reserve thingy is not *actually* happened.

What we're left wandering about is: are these guys really bitcoiners or are they "cRyPtO hOLdErS" simply willing to see their usd bank accounts bigger?

I suspect they'r of the second species.

Why is he taking money from the IMF?
