We'll see how things go, but primaries have been stolen on both sides in recent history. And maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect we have reached a point in the corruption where the general election may never have an honest outcome again. Sure it's not a ton of effort to throw a rock at the tank once every so often, but the amount of time & energy most people spend on politics would be much better spent building useful things. Black markets save collapsing societies, new presidents can only marginally delay the inevitable.

Probably doesn’t have to be said but it’s more of a ridiculous demonstration of how much power the executive branch (and federal government) has that everyone has to pay undue attention to the presidency every 4 years aka “vote or die!”. The “right” person needs to get in or “democracy dies”. Etc and so on.

That and the idea of legislating through executive orders shows a break down of separation of powers.

I’d rather pay little attention to that and focus on more local shit shows.
