Get a thyroid panel.
High cholesterol often indicates low thyroid function. TSH should be 0.3-1 with adequate T3 and low antibodies.
Increasing thyroid function will increase cholesterol utilization, leaving less cholesterol hanging around in the blood.
(Recovering thyroid will also improve blood sugar; two birds for one stone)
