when quantum is a threat, we'll be so energy abundant that every device can just use UTreeXO with their qbit compute and the block size can be increased to accommodate the larger signatures we'll need post-quantum.

but that's probably my grandkids problem.

I love an optimistic counter to black pill FUD

we are missing the point. we just understood that those qubits might be in another multiverse. Basically, we might be able to send code to parallel universes, which is set to crawl and identify the main characteristics of that universe, and then build biological Al to spec that can explore those universes and plant our DNA in suitable places there

bitcoin might be the ultimate multiverse autenticathor

Agreed. Utreexo is on the critical path to scaling bitcoin. James O'Beirne caught a lot of shit for saying Core has strayed from the critical path but he's spot on. He speaks truth to power. We should all be listening.

Calvin Kim almost quit working on Utreexo due to lack of interest. ZeroSync also started strong working on this crucial functionality and then pivoted to bridges so they could, uhhh bring shitcoins to bitcoin.

If we want to continue winning we need ZK proofs of blockchain validity. Full nodes in every wallet. Hundreds of billions of UTXOs. There is no other path to prevent evil people with paper bitcoin from stealing everyone's hard earned wealth.

Why isn't this the primary focus of development? 👀

There are good answers to my question.

Blockchain usage is low, so is it the highest priority right now? Many would answer no. That's a valid argument.

Bitcoin UX is very crappy still. It gets better every year but we are so far away from venmo. We need to close that gap. Valid argument.

Off-chain protocols like lightning, ark, and DLCs are kneecapped by bitcoin's horrible scripting language. These protocols scale transaction throughput. We need to fix bitcoin script to enable them to achieve their full potential. Valid argument.

Mining is broken and centralized. We need to fix it before it blows up and causes a chain fork. Valid argument. But I think I may have a solution for this one. 🙂
