DARPA has a Christmas present for the world. DARPA GO wants to turn living cells into programmable biological systems where you can transmit genetic information massively via light & the cell synthesizes the exact sequence you need using its own machinery. In other words, they want to transcend gene editing and all that pesky mRNA jab stuff, and instead rewrite genetic code in situ, without injecting anything into your body.
