It's a tough read. He makes up a bunch of words that are analogs for things in our world. For example a video recorder is called a "speelycaptor", movies are called "speelys", and smart phones are "gewgaws" or something like that. It takes some getting used to, however it is worth the effort. The world that he created for the book is incredibly vivid and unique. There are very deep philosophical themes that have influenced the way I think about reality and consciousness. Additionally there's some really cool science fiction stuff that I won't say what it is because I don't want to spoil anything. I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed SnowCrash and Cryptonomicon so I’ll give it a go
