"nostr is like a hackathon project that someone builds about 6 months after discovering public/private keypairs & tcp connections. sorry we tried to build an actual social protocol"

Harsh
Sums up the history of most leading tech companies.

Is this the Dan everyone talks about?
some engineers mistake complexity for quality, or rather simplicity for mediocrity. the quote "genius is making complex ideas simple, not making simple ideas complex" - comes to mind.
True, but nostr is not simple. It's way too generic.
lol isn’t simplicity a good thing?
Well blue sky solves pretty much zero problems the fediverse doesn't already solve better.
I am happy to see someone shared a secret like "bsky is a scam" lol, I was not realized bsky seems the only one client using "atproto" after checking this https://fiatjaf.com/ab1127fb.html
That's vital for DeSo projects, make sure no one can "ban a person and deprive them from their identity"
___
"The “DID Placeholder” method they decided to use for their global identities is nothing more than a normal old boring trusted server controlled by Bluesky that keeps track of who is who and can, at all times, decide to ban a person and deprive them from their identity (they dismissively call a “denial of service attack”)."
Such a good quote on so many levels.
Reminds me of the time the U.S. spent millions of dollars and years to develop a pen that would write in space….while the Russians just used a pencil.
"notice how he published this on the web over http instead of the protocol he built 😂😂"
Maybe if this asshole read to the end of the article...

Hahahahaha, that needs to be the tagline in some of the AI generated Nostr images that float around
yes, I prefer my decentralized protocol to be originated by someone "discovering public/private keypairs & tcp" on their free time, than for my decentralized protocol to be corpo owned & VC funded. The "trade offs" they keep talking about is trading off something actually useful and simple, for something that they envision and will require them to get paid high salaries until it is completed
