Pollution is waste. Competitive free markets (operating on sound money) reward efficiency & punish waste. Everyone who works to improve any process or any system in an economically profitable way is actually an environmentalist.

That doesn't apply to everything, eg there are hormonal disruptors, molecules that mimic hormones and even nanongrams in your food or water can give you man boobs. "Recycling" hormones definitely doesn't have any economic sense in terms of reusing the material but it can completely destroy certain life forms if released into an environment
Sometimes greater efficiency (less of some waste) is only possible with a complete restructuring of the way we approach certain forms of production. Sometimes waste products are extremely useful & we just have to figure out how. There is always some way to improve things & improvements are rewarded when the economic system isn't corrupt & distorted by political parasites & easy money. If there is a troublesome thing that people want to dispose of, that's the sign of a giant opportunity. When you can figure out how to make something useful with inputs people will give you for free, or even pay you to take, then you're likely to find yourself financially set for the rest of your life.
