It's now been 7 months without having an "official" thing I do. It's a strange place to navigate sometimes. I miss the comfort of knowing I can just make lattes & listen to people's stories for a living 😅

Its a very uncomfortable place to be in, for sure. I think its healthy to evaluate both how you felt being in that space, and what passes you by during these strange travels.
Less whether you're going in the right direction, because that assumes there's a predetermined path to follow. Do you like the scenery? Do you appreciate how it affects you?
My intuition is that if you're untethered, then be fully untethered. At least for a time. If you need to find stable ground to continue, you can do that as well.
