I'm still reading through NIPs, but is there one for a #nostr URI scheme? like "nostr://" so that objects can be referred to in a generic way rather than like snort http URL for example. So I can share a note link (eg. nostr://e/neventxxxxx) from #damus to my friend and it can be opened with his default app (eg. #amethyst)?

Yes.. I was putting a message in my message box on my profile and I was texting my friend the nite ID from my inbox and he was searching it up on damus and it worked it sent him right to my mailbox

So yeah, you can copy the note nevent id and then paste in search, but I’m talking about sharing “clickable” links etc. so if I shared a note to another app chat group, it would render as nostr://e/neventxxxx or something. And people in the chat tapping that link would have it open in their Nostr client of choice.

I think it’s possible to register and associate custom schemes with apps. I know on my computer ssh:// URIs are configured to open an ssh connection on my terminal when I click them.

Not 100% sure of the feasibility but was wondering about it, because a lot of clients create a snort.social http URI to notes or profiles, rather than something generic.

There we go…

I’m sure I could’ve found that if I’d tried harder haha. I’ve only read up to NIP 4 thanks to busy life.

Thanks for sharing!
