A former friend of mine from law school is now a full blown militant black separatist and that makes me sad. I loved his family first mentality and extraordinary work ethic and commitment to criminal defense work. I guess this happens.

I had friends who were women and now claim to be men, so it happens.

From another perspective my friends have me, who is now a bitcoiner, non-democrat, and everything else that comes with that.

What's wrong with his choice though? Why does it make you sad?

Because I lost a friend I’m sad. Whether he’s made a good decision for himself and his community is not for me to judge but I think we could achieve more together than apart.

I see. Makes sense. Is he unwilling to speak with you now? I assume you're not black and suppose that's why?

I’ve reached out and haven’t heard back. I’m also white. My brown Sicilian mother and grandfather were very confused by this.
