Ditch apes! NotInMyMempool aka #NIMM

I'm running Ordisrespector on few nodes. But it only helps to save my RAM usage. Unfor it doesn't help as long as there is some nodes accepting apes in mempool. Waiting for proper solution. IMO

Bitcoin is for everyone

Yes, every noder. And it makes difference who can be "everyone" depending if blockchain is growing 200GB or 50GB per year. U Wanna save apes 150GB per year or just Financial data - for eternity?

I'm not worried about the blockchain becoming too large. Even if all blocks ARE full it would be just over 50GB per year. Not sure where you're pulling 200 from? 24*60/10*365= 52,560 Mb Per year with Full Blocks. Storage follows Moores Law. How expensive was 1Gb of storage 5 years ago vs Today?

If people want to pay a fee to store their general data on chain, that's their prerogative.

If you are worried about Ordinals undermining Bitcoin, then Bitcoin is far too fragile to be the global reserve currency. I just disagree that Ordinals could do anything to undermine Bitcoin.

The blockchain is for whatever the users of the ledger value enough it to pay the transaction fee to have it on the chain. It's most effective use is by far financial and other systems are much better at storing general purpose data. But the blockchain is not for you or I to determine it's use. It's for the market to decide.

You understood free market wrong. I am it. I vote and if others join me then then we win. If not then I just participated, but nodes did not agree. we the noders are the "market"!

You said this like I don't run multiple nodes and miners myself...

No miners. Just nodes. Miners work for us. your point?

Miners are also nodes... You are not the market, I am not the market. WE are the market. I'll validate whatever transactions want to pay the fees to be in the next block. I don't discriminate transactions based on what the user is doing. and attempt to censor them. That is what you are advocating for.

You also didn't address the incorrect math on the storage calculation.

Thank you for your opinion. I agree WeThePeople are market! As a miner it is reasonable for you to validate what ever pays you. For us only-noders HDD space may (to me they are) an issue. And I'm not too worried I got some math bit wrong. I'm just nobody shouting ot here about my opinions ;) and running few nodes who dont take some of your potential clients TXs onto mempool. Hopefully there are still some to fill your blocks 😆

This is nice and good corversation. Rrpect to you, and hope U see my point 2 🙏👍

I see your point but I disagree that hard drive space is at all an issue.

I just double checked and actually you are right but even with full blocks we have nearly 2 more years before more than a Tb is needed.

1Tb SSD can be had today for under $50. In 2 years it'll likely be even cheaper (not to mention HDDs). Space is not an issue at 4mb block size every 10 minutes, which seems to be your argument.

Thank you for listening and discussing.

+50% of 1TB is already gone in IDB. but - no worries - happy mining, we need you 2 :-)
