One thing that's bothering me about Amethyst, is that I see the same popular note many times in the feed, first a bunch of reposts, and then finally the original.
It would be better to only see each note once, with an indication of who has reposted it.
A quote repost otoh should still be shown regardless.

I wonder if there is a bug on this. It was supposed to only show after 1hr from each other. So, it's ok to be reminded by one of your contacts, but it should filter repetitive instances too close to one another.
But there might be a bug. I haven't touched that code in 5 months.
noStrudel does the same thing. we notified nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr already. maybe you guys can work together on this.
I guess even a 1 hour buffer is not enough, if I catch up on the feed of the last day, it might be shown 24 times...
So, should we expand to 24hrs? đ€
Maybe yes for a quick fix... But a more sophisticated solution might be better...
Maybe instead track when the user last saw it, rather than when it was posted. And then also at least 24 hours. But I'm still not convinced that I want to be "reminded" of something I've seen before, just because one of my friends was two days late to the repost party.

Great recommendation, repetition of reposted notes happens across many #nostr clients and if what you propose can be done it would beautifully clean up the feed âĄïžâš
