Yeah I caught it. Jets battled hard out of the corner, set up up shop and a quick cross pass tip with 1.6 seconds. It was unreal.

I didn’t see the start but the Jets lost their top D and Forward early if I heard it right.

That and the Stars comeback on the Avs. Great hockey.

You have to play about 23+ games to win 16 games over 4 rounds to win the cup.

Highly skilled war of attrition.

Hardest Trophy to win in pro sports.

In superstition a player will not touch it or have a photo with the cup while in pursuit.

Some players never get to hoist the mug in a lengthy career.

Hardest indeed.

I think about it often how amazing players never get a shot at it— or win it.

Carey Price should have raised a cup. He did everything else and almost did it with a mediocre team in front of him.

Joe Thorton… + lots of names that escape me.

💯

I'm a Habs fan and they let Price down big time. Their glory years are definitely from another era but they still hold the record for the most Cups. To be fair, the 8 team league made this more achievable. It will take an incredible run in the salary cap era to beat that record.

Now, I just want to see a hard fought series where the Refs let them play and toughness wins over penalty embellishments or controversial calls.

Original 6 teams. Expansion in the 80s.

25 Cups. Leafs have 13. An era that can’t be compared for sure.
