Feel the energy of the heart šŸ«€in combination with thought 🧠 and manifest the world šŸŒŽ you want

Now this is a cage match I'd love front row seats to. If this goes to trial and a jury hears arguments, I'd be very surprised if they were sympathetic to Live Nation.

The hubris from this company is appalling but right on brand. They see ticket buyers as moronic mouth breathers and after raking each and every one of them over the coals, extracting as much money as possible, the buyer then becomes a liability. One for which they now need to honor the agreement with.

Not on trial for this but...

Live Nation does more to kill live music than help it flourish.

If I sound bitter, it's because I am. This is all too reminiscent of my years playing professionally and being controlled by another monopolistic organization (management company) Sam Feldman and Associates. Feldman controlled almost every room (100s) across Western Canada. If you wanted to play, you played by their rules and that meant - NO ORIGINALS! Feldman put bands on the road with a budget liability of a small tour. 5-ton truck to haul a mini concert set up, PA, lights and backline. After paying the crew, the truck, gas etc, the bands were left with a few hundred dollars, from a $6000 a week gig. Meanwhile Sam Feldman and Associates took 15% off the top from every band booked into every room all the while killing original/independent music. Parasitic behavior like this and that of Live Nation needs to be wiped out.

The DOJ might be a start but it's also incumbent on us. We might need to make some tough choices and if that means not seeing a favorite act in protest of the abhorrent practices Live Nation enforces, then it at least signals a vote with our wallet. Instead of paying top dollar + service charges for a Live Nation show, take a friend to your local independent club. The price will wash. You aren't feeding the beast and you're supporting the true champions of live music and the players who earn their living through door receipts and merch.

This has been a steady trend for 2 generations now. Began with high school dances changing from a live band to a DJ.

The next attack was liquor tax. In many regions the "sin tax" added 20-25% to the cost of goods. This had to be passed on to the consumer. Bar managers noted the decline in nightly receipts and only so much would be acceptable by the patrons in cost escalation or they'd go elsewhere. This left few options for managers to cut costs. Entertainment was the victim. From rooms hosting bands for 6 straight nights to 3 nights over a weekend, eventually lead to duos and singles acts. Bands had trouble finding places to play. Few gigs, fewer clubs and much less exposure to live music.

Computers, Internet and Mp3s were the kill shot. Rather than buying a band's album in anticipation of an upcoming tour in your town or one close by, listeners "snacked" on music like hors d'oeuvres. Play a track then switch to something else. Often only playing a single heard on heavy rotation. The concept of a B-side was lost, as was the long play format.

If live music ever had a chance to come out of its coma, streaming took it off of life support.

As a result of the above; music became about the latest musical fad rather than discovery. The formula involved 13 weeks. Push a song performed by anyone that fit the suit, pump it then dump it. Song factories wrote the hit and everything started to sound similar, so it mattered not who performed the number. It became about how they looked or about something shocking to break through the overcrowded soundscape of millenial woop sound alikes.

Inevitably, music became a throw away. Rather than a vinyl album that is a part of an audiophile's treasured collection, music is now merely background to a Tik Tok influencer's 15 min of fame. The band that wrote the song (if it isn't in fact AI), gets no recognition. Their musical work is treated like the paper liner on an In-N-Out Burger tray.

Bands haven't been appreciated for what they do or how they impact our lives for more than 40 years now. Unless they are crammed down the throats of the pre-teen set (Taylor Swift) most will have no connection to the idea that music is performed live.

Independent venues are the last bastions of a culture that used to thrive, launch careers and break out talent on a nightly basis. Go to the club Monday, check out the band to see if they're happening, if so, you'd be back Friday and maybe Saturday too. You could stumble across an act that was touring in support of an album you'd never heard on local radio. After they blew the doors off the place, you were at the record store the very next day buying their album and then sharing it with friends who'd also go grab a copy.

We need to support independent clubs as an endangered keystone species. Otherwise their loss will cause a cascading effect across a system barely hanging on. If we let this element of the music world go extinct, it will never come back and the knock on effects will only be apparent when irreparable damage is done.

Projects on Nostr like nostr:nprofile1qqstn5pvhr7aavv3wq0vqeywxlk376hm5f37qps0cpsfnf3g28f9upqpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd3skueqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejs9uu5e4 are doing something about this threatened extinction event. Using the Internet to launch independent artists and put a cushion beneath them until they are able to draw well at an independent club, not only works for the artist, it supports the club, it supports the eco-system.

Just finished watching it.

Playa Hermosa is spectacular. You can drive and park a few yards from the beach, walk through the mangrove and take it all in.

El Zonte is more walkable imo but Uvita's beaches are hard to beat.

Can't go wrong at either destination and being able to pay in Bitcoin makes both places stand out. šŸ”„

Not my thing.

But with AI music topping the charts on Spotify, this is par for the course.

We lost 2 generations to live music, fine arts and theatre.

Hollywierd hijacked the brains of video kids. Centralized music formatted on millennial woops, so as auto-tuned tracks all sound the same, creative listening is lost. No one paints when LLMs fill canvases in seconds. Theatre, like Jazz and Blues is dead.

Silver lining - Nostr and Bitcoin will fuel a renaissance of sorts, where a human that can produce music acoustically (the guitar at a campfire) or sing in tune without a machine or put color from a brush on tactile media, will amaze and confound the masses as an alchemist was able to in the dark ages.

AI and robotics dazzle today but they are a mimic with no breath, no soul. The connection with human spirit will cut through the dystopia.

#Freedom from the simulation will be the prize for some but not for all.

My bet is on those who do the work and choose wisely for the win!

Also, the codebase is becoming more modular, so anyone can replace parts and build their own release, as nostr:nprofile1qqspe0vmhu7gct8vzp6wksuf8ry4j32jfxcqepjqdyzfs89f2j5j7csv0nqwc illustrated in the release video (with intro of ArkadeOs plugin by nostr:nprofile1qy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wshsz8thwden5te0dehhxarj9e3xjarrda5kuetj9eek7cmfv9kz7qpqy24gz5gwucl79vtv4ctwpysl0r5m4xyzu2rgulnr44ks3t5mt92qdey4g3 no less).

Keeping it real... don't be an apologist for old skool vax either. Kids from the 60s and 70s were guinea pigs. Then heavily indoctrinated to believe and parrot that what was being injected into their veins was "good for them". There's a reason it's called medical pRaCtIcE

Shooting cow puss c/w thimerosal into the body is one of the most self inflicting harms imaginable. But it's SCIENCE Riiiiiiight?!

The body's immunology is a miracle. Give it what it needs, avoid what it doesn't. Thing is, we want it both ways. To stuff our faces with shit, drink alcohol, do drugs and bathe ourselves in blue light, then cheer for "modern medicine" to defrag our putridly inept immune system, while exclaiming, "it's not my fault, it's my genes"

It's all about FREEDOM of choice, which comes at a price. Like Bitcoin, we get health at the price we deserve. Pay now or pay much higher later.

Drink booze, eat seed oils, smoke, play video games - but accept the consequences like an adult. Own it... just don't give your power over to the Pharma-witch-doctor to fix the š‘ š‘¦š‘šš‘š‘”š‘œš‘šš‘  of your shitty choices.

... and that's exactly what it was meant to envoke. As the system collapses, things are going to get crazier.

Pulling us from the energy of love toward hatred, fear and desperation. Now more than ever, we need to stay together not pull apart.

What a horrific few days. I pray for us.

The chart only goes parabolic in the mid 90s... I blame "Grunge"

Now do gay frogs.

For me, it's individuals longing for attention. Piercings went to an extreme. When an individual no longer stood out in the pierced crowd, body mods began.

Tattoos went from body parts to the face untill that was no longer extreme enough to stand out. The trend to change gender is no different. Stand out from the crowd by changing your sex but as with all trends, they run their course. Piercings can kind of heal over. Tattoos are a more permanent reminder of one's choices but artificially altering hormones, puberty blockers and adding or removing body parts, "that's gonna leave a mark". Mostly in a cry for acceptance and belonging.

In my opinion this is a result of programming. Media, schools, socials...

Stupid impetuous humans.

While we're on the subject... did the drones get it right? I always thought it was infinity over 21. Got me thinking, is 21m Bitcoin divided by infinity fiat or should it be infinite fiat divided by 21m Bitcoin? Using the parlance 21 goes into infinity or vice versa

Want to start a #Bitcoin circular economy in your town?

Here are the biggest lessons I learned building one in mine.

The hidden obstacle that stalls adoption:

🌱

The hardest part of building a Bitcoin circular economy isn’t technical.

It’s social.

Wallets and Lightning are easy.

Making business owners feel safe? That’s the challenge.

🌱

Many business owners aren’t against Bitcoin. Many are curious. Many even like it personally.

But hesitation sets in when they think about going public and associating their business with it. They worry about how it will look - if they’ll face backlash, if people will label them unfairly.

This is the obstacle that quietly stalls adoption.

🌱

They worry:

• ā€œWhat will my regulars think?ā€

• ā€œWill people assume I’m political or extreme?ā€

• ā€œWill there be backlash in the community?ā€

• ā€œWhat if there are risks I don’t even know about yet?ā€

Even if they like Bitcoin personally, that mix of social pressure and uncertainty often keeps them hesitant.

🌱

The story you tell matters.

The narrative matters.

If Bitcoin is framed as ā€œradical,ā€ ā€œpolitical,ā€ or ā€œanti-system,ā€ most merchants back away.

If it’s framed as local money that keeps value in the community and strengthens small business they lean in.

Adoption feels cooperative and positive, even patriotic.

🌱

In the Comox Valley I took action to overcome this hurdle by making adoption feel safe, friendly, and local.

Merchants aren’t ā€œtaking a risk,ā€ they are joining the Comox Valley circular economy - a supportive network that celebrates local businesses.

• Branding is friendly and familiar, which softened Bitcoin’s image. Builds a familiar community brand people learn to trust, and are proud to be a part of.

• Merchants join as part of a circular economy - no one feels alone.

• I lead with community-first language (ā€œkeeping value localā€) (ā€œcircular economyā€) before saying Bitcoin.

• Merchants can start privately, then go public when confident.

• And when they do, celebrate them - so visibility feels like support, not exposure. And it shows others it is safe to join.

With friendly branding and positive language, Bitcoin doesn’t feel political or foreign, it starts feeling like community.

🌱

Celebrating new merchants isn’t just recognition - it’s visibility.

Most businesses aren’t waiting for better wallets. They’re waiting for proof it’s safe. Proof that others like them are already doing it.

When a familiar business accepts Bitcoin, two things click:

Normalization - Bitcoin stops feeling fringe and starts feeling ordinary.

Social proof - ā€œIf they can do it, so can I.ā€

This flips psychology fast. Even a town that feels against it can swing almost overnight - if just one or two respected businesses lead the way.

Visibility doesn’t just spread the word.

It turns hesitation into confidence.

That’s how circular economies begin.

Create a local group to proudly share and promote businesses accepting!

Give these businesses even more value for joining!

🌱

One thing I found crucial:

When talking with merchants and community members, I never frame Bitcoin as ā€œagainstā€ anything.

Not against banks.

Not against inflation.

Not against the system.

I always speak in the positive:

• Local value staying local

• New customers walking in the door

• Community loyalty and pride

• Networking and community cooperation.

Bitcoin adoption grows fastest when it feels like an opportunity - not a confrontation.

🌱

The Takeaway.

If you ignore this obstacle, adoption stalls. If you plan for it, you can make merchants feel safe, supported, and even proud to go public in your community.

The way to do that is simple: step back and observe your community. Every town has its own barriers and dynamics - address those first. Don’t try to ā€œget everyone to use Bitcoin.ā€ Instead, focus on creating a circular economy that genuinely benefits the people around you. Pour value into that, and let Bitcoin be the tool that beautifully facilitates it.

🌱

These are the dynamics I observed in the Comox Valley.

Other towns will be different, but these principles are universal.

Bitcoin isn’t just software.

It’s social infrastructure.

🌱

Remember the real objective, center and align yourself and your approach with it often.

It isn’t just to get businesses to say yes to Bitcoin.

What is your goal? Get clear on that.

My goal: building communities and people that embody what Bitcoin teaches - patience, responsibility, truth, abundance, and voluntary cooperation. Giving people the tools to learn the deeper lessons Bitcoin teaches.

Each circular economy is a living node in the greater Bitcoin network.

I want to support you in your town!

Circular economies are where Bitcoin stops being theory and starts shaping the world with hard money.

-Joyce Dawn

Some insightful observations in this post. - Meet people/merchants where they are.

- Keep money circulating in our town

- Boost community pride

Bitcoin Rodeo – Key Take-Away Notes

---

1. Bitcoin Take-Aways

I hold shares of several publicly traded Bitcoin-treasury companies in a registered account. Even before the conference I had begun shifting those positions into self-custody Bitcoin, but the Rodeo reinforced *why* a Bitcoin-only savings strategy matters.

The fundamental risk to treasury companies is not exchange hacks or a Coinbase failure—though those remain concerns. The larger threat is **state intervention** as the fiat system unravels, echoing the 1933 U.S. gold seizure (Executive Order 6102). If governments need hard assets, publicly listed vehicles will be the easiest targets.

My conclusion: the safest way to protect hard-earned wealth is **self-custody Bitcoin—ideally acquired without KYC**. While outright confiscation of KYC coins is technically difficult, governments can still impose punitive measures such as unrealized-gains taxes to siphon off your savings.

I remain optimistic, but the road ahead is unlikely to be smooth. I’d rather shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding my future than hand that power to the state.

---

2. Health Take-Aways

ā€œHealthy lifestyleā€ looks different for everyone, yet the Rodeo nudged me to audit the low-hanging fruit in my own routine. On a health panel, speakers were asked for the single most important factor. Their answer surprised me: **sleep**.

That insight explains why many people feel drained. Trapped in a fiat treadmill, they sacrifice rest for extra hours at work or more late-night screen time. One panelist noted his wife—a nurse for 15 years—has *less* purchasing power today at the top of her pay scale than she did as a new graduate. Even ā€œgoodā€ jobs can’t outrun fiat debasement.

Action items I’m exploring:

* **Screen-curfew** a few hours before bed, or at least blue-light filters/glasses.

* **Analogue downtime**—reading a physical book instead of scrolling.

* **Historical template**: What did people eat, drink, and how did they move 150 years ago, before processed food and 24/7 stimulation?

No one expects a return to horse-drawn carriages, but the thought experiment helps identify modern distortions. My goal is to carve out more daily time for genuine recovery and health.

---

3. Meeting People Where They Are

Most people’s struggles trace back—directly or indirectly—to fiat incentives, yet that connection isn’t obvious to ā€œnormies.ā€ Like many Bitcoiners, I sometimes launch into deep rabbit holes instead of starting with their immediate concerns.

Key reminders:

* **Listen first.** Ask what frustrates them—rising rent, grocery bills, lack of savings—and link those pain points to monetary debasement.

* **Stay concise.** Years of study can’t be off-loaded in one conversation.

* **Offer an easy first step.** A single Lightning wallet download can do more than an hour-long lecture.

If you’ve found an especially effective way to orange-pill friends and family, I’m all ears—share your best tactics!

---

great observations and summary!

Closed out a Bitcoin Rodeo standing on the shoulders of giants. I was honored to be invited to Emcee the 2 days.
