The new Fairphone (Gen. 6) is now available. You can order the Android version or the e/OS/ version.
The Fairphone comes with a 5-year warranty and 8 years of software support. It's durable by design and has replaceable modules.

Have you owned and/or used one ?
Unfortunately not. It's very difficult to import these kind of things from Europe to Thailand. Import fees are high and unpredictable. I guess, if I would still live in Europe I would use one. I still use an 8 year old Android 5.1 phone which of course hasn't any support since at least 6 years. That whole e-waste is sickening.

Interesting. Would be great if we could have a comment from the Fairphone team on these issues. Both sides have to be heard before coming to a conclusion. But in general, great idea from Skipper.

They skip Android's monthly and quarterly updates entirely. They provide the yearly releases a year or more late from the start with delays getting longer as it goes on. There are often 1-2 month delays for the bare minimum security backports.
/e/OS is an extraordinarily insecure and non-private fork of LineageOS which should never be used.
Thanks a lot for this information and for the time you take to clear up this issue.
This is of course completely different from what Fairphone claims to provide and changes my perspective.
What I don't understand is, why GrapheneOS can't be ported on a Fairphone? Wouldn't GrapheneOS itself get rid of the lack of support provided by Fairphone?
