The US government has restricted Huawei's global smartphone market share, and without hardware, their operating system is left without an audience and doomed to fail even in the Chinese market, as the hardware there isn't Chinese either.

Proton is cheap for one year atm
Usually, I don't recommend Proton to anyone, but to give them credit, their service is genuinely affordable. Plus, along with email, they offer a calendar, file storage, and other stuff. Seems fine if you don't have self-hosting or don't want to keep things on your own.
yeah i use it too, pretty much deprecating google, very few things i use with it anymore
I wish any degoogled android fork worked on any phone I've ever owned. I think next time I'll buy a Linux phone.
