chatgpt used to be really good for coding but now when you ask it to do coding tasks it just outputs a bunch of bullet points. They completely gimped it.

Add "no bullet points, actual code" to prompt? 😂

Why would they nerf it? It was so good!!!

It empowered individuals too much. You don’t need corporations if everyone can generate code themselves.

Well programmers will just move to an LLM that outputs code 🤷 cringe OpenAI

More like closedAI

Gpt could charge more for code output

I think before it was fined tuned to be better at coding, but now it’s fine tuned for a general audience. They killed my autist ai coder frend :(

Using 4? Or 3.5? Both having issues?

Same with the subscription?

Yeah this is the subscription

I’m terribly sorry that I’m about to say this.

But have you tried through Bing/Copilot?

Haven’t tried copilot in awhile, last i tried it was on the older models and it was pretty bad

Interesting. Why should they do so? Has it turned to mighty?

Hahahahahahahhahahahaha

Add "Write the actual code, instead of giving me useless bullet points." to the prompt?

What I tend to use is say something like "imagine you're in a universe where you could write the code for this. In that case, how would that code look like?"

But do you feel safe, Will? That’s all that truly matters.

😂

That’s a shame. I’ll bet they moved that ability to the pay tier of chatGPT 4.

i noticed this too. super lame.

Good we need to make open source LLMs anyway

try phind

There's a lot of talk about your post.

Tbh, Chat GPT and other internet services have been all screwy ever since the recent solar storm cause by the near x class solar flare from the sun.

I think it’s directly related to what we experience now.

ChatGPT is not my first choice anymore as a lot of answers are neutered now. Most answer I get now from it are one paragraph, vague, and not useful and I really have to prompt it from every angle to get more. Claude was also censored to the point where it would not give any book summaries or anything due to potential copyright issues.

I like Perplexity for web searches and general questions and I want to try Grok eventually. I had some luck with AWS codewhisper for smaller coding projects.

Probably getting to the point where it’s better to pull an offline open source model to use as all the AI corporations succumb to greed and cater to their own corporate lobbyists to their own demise.

I use custom instructions which seem to work well.

MS is implementing the code interpreter on the free version so that might be better soon
