I’ve peeped mentally but my physical state and reliance on “the system” is not where I want it to be. Hard to disconnect from modern conveniences.
If I wanted to start a commune to grow food - the US will flag it as a terrorist organization from what I hear.
Ultimately nobody will last long individually, we all need to connect like nodes in the physical world and create the new system (mostly farming and permaculture, sustainable living, etc).
I was an off-grid back-to-the-land hippie for a few years. I made life immeasurably harder for myself, although I got a lot of value out of it.
We just need to harness these modern tech with falling into the fiat market trap. DIY water heaters, passive solar, natural building, up-cycled trash, all of these are incredibly simple, but not on the market because they make too much sense and are ACTUALLY sustainable.
Exactly man. You just hit the nail on the head. We have the technology to be completely sustainable and live 95% “off grid” and it is extremely simple.
The distractions and living within the world and being tied to a family is what makes it difficult however.
Throw all your ideals out on the table, and pick the ones that are actually achievable without driving your family insane 😂😂. We all have to adapt to this monstrosity someway or another.

Currently making that leap to no longer being a corporate slave which is the main reason we all stay attached to the cities and the rest of the bull shit follows.
Everyone is too busy and simply don’t have the time to go down the rabbit hole and end up in a place like Nostr or even see the need for Nostr.
It takes a lot of steps before getting here and almost a unique situation.
I’m not tying to get off topic but my problem is my paycheck relies on a corporation which fucking sucks and I am so busy it’s difficult to get out of the slave job.
